KEEPING PEOPLE SAFE
If it isn't safe, it isn't Church
Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility.
Safeguarding means preventing harm to children and adults at risk by protecting them from abuse or neglect. The Church in Wales is committed to safeguarding as an integral part of its life, mission and ministry and as such, we will:
- Promote the wellbeing of children and adults at risk
- Raise awareness of safeguarding within the Church
- Work to prevent abuse or harm from occurring
- Seek to protect and respond well to those that have been abused.
Safer Recruitment
We believe there is a place for everyone to be part of the life and work of our church. Creating a welcoming and inclusive community is at the heart of who we are.
At the same time, the safety and well-being of our team and all those who engage with us is a priority. To support this, we follow a safer recruitment process for everyone serving in any role within the church.
All team members are added to our secure, GDPR-compliant My Church People register. Depending on the nature of the role, individuals will also be asked to complete appropriate safeguarding training and, where necessary, undergo a DBS check.
These steps help us ensure that our church remains a safe, supportive, and trusted environment for everyone.
