Ponty Pantry

Committed to reducing food waste in Pontypridd
We are not a Foodbank!
Ponty Pantry is an environmental scheme aimed at reducing food waste.
We are based in St Catherine’s Church, Pontypridd, and work closely with our partners at Lidl, Aldi, Sainsbury's and Maesycoed Community Allotment. They provide us with fresh, seasonal, food that is close to its sell by date and we share it with the wider community.
Although we operate out of a church, we are open to everyone - you don’t have to be a church goer!

How it works
Arrive any time before 12:00 -
The church service may be just finishing, but don't let that put you off!
Come in and take a seat at the back.
You’ll be greeted by a member of our team and given a numbered ticket
so that you don’t have to physically queue.
At 12.00pm the tables of food will be opened and your ticket number will be called.
.

There is no fee or special requirements to use the Pantry
We’re just happy to see the food shared and used.

Every week, the selection of food is different,
most of it comes from Aldi and is their short-life fresh food.

Want to join our team?

Helping out in the community can be very rewarding!
We have several jobs that need doing every week that make the Ponty Pantry happen,
and there is always room on our team for one more!

Richard is ready to welcome you into the Pantry Kitchen to sample Lorrain's delicious and nutricious home made soup and home-baked cake.

The cafe has a lovely warm atmosphere, where you are encouraged to chat with people and play board games. Food and hot drinks offer excellent value for money - and are so good that you will be counting the days to the next Pantry Kitchen

See you Tuesday, 12:00 - 14:00.
