Ponty Pantry
Committed to reducing food waste in Pontypridd
We are not a Foodbank!
Ponty Pantry is an environmental scheme aimed at reducing food waste. We are based in St Catherine’s Church, Pontypridd, and work closely with our partners at Aldi, Sainsbury's and Maesycoed Community Allotment. They provide us with fresh, seasonal, food that is close to its sell by date and we share it with the wider community.
Although we operate out of a church, we are open to everyone - you don’t have to be a church goer!

How it works
Arrive any time before 12.15pm with your own bag -
The church service may be just finishing, but don't let that put you off!
Come in and take a seat at the back.
You’ll be greeted by a member of our team and given a numbered ticket
so that you don’t have to physically queue.
At 12.15pm the tables of food will be opened and your ticket number will be called.
You can come and choose the food you want.
There is no set fee, (but we are always ready to accept a donation, no matter how small it is)
we’re just happy to see the food shared and used.
Every week the selection of food is different, most of it comes from Aldi and is their short life fresh food.
Want to join our team?
Helping out in the community can be very rewarding!
We have a number of jobs that need doing every week that makes the Ponty Pantry happen,
and there is always room on our our team for one more!
