PRAYER
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens.
This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live

In life, we can seek all kinds of support and help… our local MP, our doctor, maybe even the King, or the Prime Minister… However, as Christians we seek the help of the One who is above all others - Jesus. He is ever present to help and guide us. At the Pontypridd Ministry Area everything we do as a church family is dependent upon God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We take everything in prayer to him because we know that he is listening, and will respond.
Prayer is not difficult. You don't need specialist training or to memorise any words - all you need to do is talk to God, as you would a loving parent or an old friend. He is listening.
Prayer is not a wish list. Its not just about asking God for things you need or desire. It’s about establishing a relationship with Him built on faith and trust. God knows the desires of your heart long before you even think to ask, but he still loves to hear from you—whether you're asking for guidance or giving thanks—because it draws you closer to him.
The Bible is full of people who were led to pray for a multitude of things we still pray about today: fear, anger, worry. That's why the Good Book is chock-full of Bible verses about worry, Bible verses about strength, and Bible verses about hope. But for those dark days when you're questioning just how effective prayer really is, these Bible verses will help motivate you to get down on your knees and communicate with the Lord.
Here are a few pointers to help you start praying:
Corporate Prayer
During our Sunday Worship, we pray together. Prayer is vital for a life with Jesus. Prayer encourages and inspires us, and gives us the opportunity to hear from God. Prayer changes things. We meet every Friday Evening at 6pm on Zoom to pray together, for each other and for the world. Join us by using this link, or by using logging into Meeting ID: 883 2952 7796 Passcode: prayers
Why is it important? How is it powerful? Who can join in? Everyone is welcome to join our corporate prayer times, see the calendar.
Personal Prayer
We encourage everyone to spend time with the Lord, simply having a conversation with Him. For handy tips on how to pray 24/7 Prayer has some helpful tips. If, hoewver, you are struggling to know how to start, why don't you pray as Jesus taught us:

The Lord's Prayer
Traditional
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. |

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen. |
Traddodiadol
Ein Tad, yr hwn wyt yn y nefoedd, Sancteiddier dy enw. Deled dy deyrnas. Gwneler dy ewyllys, megis yn y nef, felly ar y ddaear hefyd. Dyro i ni heddiw ein bara beunyddiol. A maddau i ni ein dyledion, fel y maddeuwn ninnau i'n dyledwyr. Ac nac arwain ni i brofedigaeth; eithr gwared ni rhag drwg. Canys eiddot ti yw'r deyrnas, a'r gallu, a'r gogoniant, yn oes oesoedd. Amen. |
Cyfoes
Ein Tad yn y nefoedd, sancteiddier dy enw; deled dy deyrnas; gwneler dy ewyllys, ar y ddaear fel yn y nef. Dyro inni heddiw ein bara beunyddiol, a maddau inni ein troseddau, fel yr ym ni wedi maddau i’r rhai a droseddodd yn ein herbyn; a phaid â’n dwyn i brawf, ond gwared ni rhag yr Un drwg. Oherwydd eiddo ti yw’r deyrnas a’r gallu a’r gogoniant am byth. Amen |

Lectio 365 is the ancient practice of Lectio Divina - which means 'divine reading' which was first established by monks in the 6th Century. Lectio Divina invites you to listen to the pre recorded bible passage for the words that the Holy Spirit is highlighting to you in that moment. This app helps you build a deeper relationship with God and his Word by savouring passages from scripture.

Want to get to know the Bible? We'll take you through it, step by step. Over the course of a year, this app/web site guides you through the Old Testament, New Testament, Gospel and Psalms. Each reading is followed by a thought from Rev Nicky Gumbel to help you root the learning into your everyday experiences. This app has the function for you to read or listen along.

The Daily Office is a traditional form of Anglican prayer. It is prayed four times a day-Morning Prayer, Prayer during the day, Evening Prayer and Compline (bedtime prayers). You can pray all four of the offices or just chose one. This app/web site prepares daily readings from scripture along with intercession prayers.
